Tis a real special one too, 29 on the 29th.
I decided it was a good day to just call this good.

This is another one of those pictures that no one on deviantart gives an damn about. HA! You just can't handle how pretty Tom is.

Dear Tom,
This time, I'm not sorry at all.

I have no clue where it came from, picked it up a year ago or so. It's just on of those 'Smith died in a tragic accident'-channel-six crappy party shots, so I don't think I'm going to get maimed. Besides. Mine's better.

This time, I was focusing on trying to bring more sense of... architecture into the face. I learned some new smaller planes of the cheek, and about eye crinkles.

This may well be a work in progress. It was an extremely difficult picture to reference for obvious reasons. And some of the lighting is still kind of iffy for me. Especially around the neck.

Still, it makes me happy. And I defy you if you didn't smile just a little looking at that goofy grin. :D

I know! <3 Still puzzling as to how that vast breadth is even possible. It's not like his mouth is particularly wide at rest...

yeaaaaaa! finally!

so, tongue and teeth area. seems to have less dimension than the rest of the face. which kinda makes the teeth look like they're farther back than they are. more shading back there?

aaaah, hair and neck are :heart:

OOoooo. <3 Thanks. Re-shading the tongue immediately gave the inside of the mouth more depth. Which totally makes sense, can't believe it never occurred to me.
